Getting started

iKomment adds privacy-first threaded comments to any website — fast everywhere in the world. This guide takes you from zero to first comment in about five minutes.

1. Create a site

Sign in at ikomment.com/manage (magic link, Google or GitHub) and create your first site with its domain. You get a site key like ik_live_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

2. Embed the widget

Add two lines before </body>:

CMS users: install the WordPress or Joomla plugin instead.

3. Choose a moderation mode

In Settings, pick how new comments are treated: manual (everything waits for review), auto (heuristics decide), or trusted-auto (only members who earned trust post instantly). Tune word filters, honeypot, rate limits and Turnstile in the same place.

4. Make it yours

Accent color, corner radius and font are inherited from the page or set per site in the dashboard. Visitors get a dark-mode switch out of the box.
